Alexandre Lacazette, the mercurial striker of the French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais, has reportedly announced his departure from his current club at the end of the season. Though there has been no indication whether he might be moving to, there is a strong possibility that the French striker might be coming to the Premier League.
However, Lacazette has recently shown his admiration for the Spanish side Atletico Madrid and his colleague in the French national side Antoine Griezmann, the superstar forward who is the main man spearheading the attack for the Spanish club. That, though, has not been able to write off his potential move to the English Premier League.
Reportedly, Arsenal, who are currently vying with Liverpool and Manchester City for a place in the top four this season, is the one club looking to bring in the French striker in the next season. The Gunners have been going through a tumultuous situation in order to keep hold of their talismanic forward Alexis Sanchez, who might be leaving in the summer to render his services to the current champions, Chelsea.
Lacazette made it possible with his sublime form for his club Lyon to enter the UEFA Champions League last season. However, it is being reported that Lyon, having failed to qualify for the aforementioned competition this season, will have to let go off their prized possession.
But Arsenal, who failed to book a place for themselves in the UEFA Champions League next season will face a similar problem while recruiting him. But they can use the services of the mercurial French striker to full effect in order to replace Sanchez up front if the Chilean does leave. It will give a much-needed boost to the team in terms of scoring goals.
Lacazette has been instrumental for his current club Lyon throughout his career so far. However, the lack of top class players in the side who can support him in the attacking third to win more accolades for his side is considered to be the prime reason for the forward to make a move out of the French club.
The French striker, in the current situation, is looking favourite to join the Spanish club Atletico Madrid in the summer. With countryman Kevin Gameiro not been able to make much of a mark in this season and veteran striker Fernando Torres not being as good as his old days, there is a strong possibility of a French attacking pair up front for Los Colchoneros next term.
