French starlet Kylian Mbappe has been in prolific form throughout the current season, attracting interest from a number of big name clubs from all over Europe. The race has now been joined by the Merseyside club Liverpool, who are looking to bag the youngster for the next season.
Reportedly, a bid of £64 million has been made by the Reds to bring in the highly-rated French striker from his current club AS Monaco. Monaco, who has been recently crowned as the champions of this season’s French Ligue 1 campaign, has rejected the bid with immediate effect, as per sources.
However, recent reports suggest that there has been no such bid made by Liverpool and their current coach Jurgen Klopp is only monitoring the situation. The French youngster is under contract with Monaco till 2019, and the current French champions will look to hold onto their prized possession for more years to come.
Liverpool have been in good form this season in the Premier League, and are currently placed at the third position on the League table. With just one more match remaining for them before the season ends, it is almost certain that the Reds are going to have a taste of European football as they enter the Champions League next season.
Their German coach Jurgen Klopp is very much aware of the fact that they might have to face some of the biggest teams in the world and has already started to look for players who can help him in his pursuit of glory in the Champions League. The Monaco starlet is one of the many players who has been on his priority list for the next season.
The French champions have declared that any offer over £85 million might be considered for their youngster during the summer transfer window. However, they are trying their level best to keep hold of Mbappe for at least one more season, given his tremendous display of form in the current season.
The 19-year-old has all the makings to become a superstar in the near future. The French starlet has been at the top of his game and has been instrumental in his side’s triumph in French Ligue 1 in the current season. He has also proved to be lethal against some of the top clubs in Europe in Monaco’s campaign in the UEFA Champions League this term and helped them to reach the semi-finals before being humbled by the Italian giants Juventus.
