Manchester United are reportedly tracking the movement of Jack Butland and might make a move for the keeper. The England international has been mostly injured this season and has returned to full fitness recently. Although Butland was unavailable for most of the time, his excellence in the goal is not unknown which has attracted a number of clubs including the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea. All of these clubs are required to bolster their keeping section for various reasons and Butland would be a fantastic addition.
After failing to entice David De Gea, Madrid are once again ready to offer a huge sum for the Spaniard and a tug of war regarding his transfer might be on the cards. The Spanish international had an initial struggle at the Old Trafford but has now developed into one of the most outstanding shot-stoppers in the world. Madrid had a bitter history of transfer as their attempt to hire the keeper failed at the last moments in 2015 thanks to a fax machine. A formal offer from them is seemingly imminent and United would try to tie him up at the club a far as they can.
Arsenal, City and Chelsea also have their problems regarding selecting a keeper. Claudio Bravo was awful at the start of the season but Willy Caballero later steadied the ship for them. The goalkeeping situation has forced Pep Guardiola to invest in this section and Butland might be a target for him. Joe Hart is currently on loan at Torino but he is not the perfect keeper for Pep and could leave the club permanently. Arsenal also might be looking for a new man with the gloves as Petr Cech has struggled in this season. There is a possibility that Arsene Wenger might stay at the club and the one thing he will be looking to strengthen is the goalkeeping department.
Stoke boss, Mark Hughes has also warned him before making a move as Butland will be following the footsteps of Begovic who joined Chelsea two seasons ago. Stoke are in the fear of losing their goalkeeper once again and they have very little to do with this if a bid comes for him. It would be very tough for Butland to make a choice as a move to United will be very tempting for him but he needs to make sure he will have regular game time as he is also on Gareth Southgate’ radar.
