Bournemouth are having a fairly good season this term in the English Premier League and are currently standing at the 10th position on the league table. Eddie Howe, the current manager is looking to build on this performance for a better show in the next season and is looking to bring in players whose presence can have a substantial amount of impact on the side.
Reportedly, The Cherries have been linked with the Chelsea superstar John Terry, who has confirmed an exit from Stamford Bridge at the end of the current season. Chelsea has already been crowned champions this term, though their influential ex-captain did not have much of a role to play in the defence under their new coach Antonio Conte.
The 36-year old ex-England captain has been an integral part of the Chelsea line-up for several years since he joined the club. However, in the last few seasons, there were speculations that the legendary defender might leave The Blues due to the age factor. The veteran centre back was also aware of the fact and was thus extending his contract by a single year for the last few terms. This time around though, the talismanic figure has taken the decision to finally bid adieu to his beloved club.
Terry, however, is far from hanging up his boots, as he is believed to be ready to play for a rival club in the English Premier League next season. A number of clubs have already been in contention to get the veteran defender in their ranks for the forthcoming season. Bournemouth, in the current situation, are being considered to be the favourites to bag the defender for the next term.
The Cherries, reportedly, are on their way to offer a deal to the ex-England captain, which will see him make a move to Dean Court in the next season and stay there for two consecutive years. Bournemouth boss Howe believes that the influence of the legendary player will be very much positive on the whole team and their fans.
John Terry will be moving as a free transfer agent after this season, as his contract with The Blues will come to an end. This is supposed to be considered as a very good indication for The Cherries in case they want to bring in the ex-England international to Dean Court in terms of financial matters.
Reports suggest that West Bromwich Albion are also looking to bag the veteran defender for the next season. Tony Pulis has been a big fan of Terry and looks forward to working with him.
