Tottenham Hotspur travel to Leicester City in a bid to authenticate their supremacy. Although a second place finish is already confirmed, Mauricio Pochettino won’t take this match lightly. Spurs bid a thumping goodbye to their 118-year-old home White Hart Lane as they defeated Manchester United in the last match staged at that stadium. The Lilyhites will be playing their home games in the Wembley Stadium next season as renovation has already started at the White Hart Lane.
The North Londoners have nothing to play for but a commanding end to this season would send a strong message to the other clubs. They will take a shot in the last two games as they will be travelling to the KCOM Stadium to entertain a relegated Hull City. Pochettino might give a few out of favour players a chance to shine in this match.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Lineup Against Leicester City
Defence
Pochettino might introduce Michel Vorm to the starting lineup to provide some much-needed rest to Hugo Lloris. Lloris must have been exhausted by the hectic fixture in the League and that’s why Vorm will be in between the sticks.
The central defensive pair of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld must be aware of Leicester City’s threat and will do their homework according to the game plan.
Kieran Trippier has done his job beautifully in the right back position and in the absence of Kyle Walker, it will again be Trippier who starts in the right back position.
Danny Rose has undergone knee surgery and might miss the start of next season too. Ben Davies will start on the left side of the defence.
Midfield
Pochettino will use a double pivot of Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama to prevent the floodgate of Foxes attacks. Dier has also done his bit in the central defence in this season but in this match, he will be at the centre of the park in a bid to push his team.
Attack
Christian Eriksen has been the centre of Pochettino’s strategy and he will be the perfect no. 10.
Moussa Sissoko has been a big money flop in this season and he might get a chance to showcase his talent.
Dele Alli single-handedly broke down the Red Devils in the last match and once again the onus will be on him to drive Spurs ahead.
Harry Kane is still in the race for the Golden Boot and he will surely fancy his chances.

Note: An earlier version of this article incorrectly had Walker starting in the right back position. We have since rectified that error.
