Liverpool are having one of the best seasons in the Premier League this term, making their hold even stronger on the third place position. With the current season almost coming to an end, Liverpool have already started preparing for their European campaign next season by looking to bring in players from all over Europe.
Their list of probable players to be signed in the next season contains the name of the Italian youngster Andrea Conti, currently playing for Atalanta in the Italian Serie A. The right back is having a great season with his current club, and has attracted interests from a number of big name clubs including the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Italian champions Juventus.
Conti has been playing throughout his whole career for Atalanta. He started off with the youth system and after coming through it, was promoted to the senior side to have a taste of top flight football in the Serie A. From his recent career credentials, it is not very hard to understand that he is having a great time with his current club.
Conti has made 33 appearances for Atalanta so far this season, having scored eight goals in total. He has also been a great help to his teammates by providing them assists, five of them to be precise. The Italian Under 21 international is one of the success stories of the Italian Serie A this season, and it has not gone unnoticed by the Merseyside club it appears.
Liverpool has been having a good season nevertheless, but their chunk of the problem is in the defensive area. In order to give stability to the defence in the next season when they face some of the biggest clubs in Europe in the UEFA Champions League, their current coach Jurgen Klopp is looking to bring in the sensational right back from Atalanta and use his speed and exuberance to create chances in the opposition defence more often.
It goes without saying that other big clubs like Barcelona and Juventus are competing with The Reds to get Atalanta’s prized possession in their team for next term. However, the youngster has reportedly said that he is happy at his current club and will be taking any decision regarding his future only after the current Serie A season is over.
Conti has also said that he is absolutely “flattered” to have known about the speculations of him leaving the club in the next season. Although he has not snubbed them, it is currently Atalanta that has got his full concentration.
