Chelsea have won the English Premier League in the current season, this one being their sixth. All the players and the coach are very happy with the achievement, as it was a hard fight for revival after their dismal performance saw them finish at the ninth position under the coaching of Jose Mourinho.
Antonio Conte, undoubtedly, is more than satisfied with the result. He is also aware of the fact that the next season will be a lot tougher for him as well as his team as they will be competing against some of the best clubs in Europe when they head back to the UEFA Champions League. Keeping that in mind, the Italian tactician is looking to bring in players from all over Europe to strengthen the squad for the next season.
Reportedly, Radja Nainggolan, the Roma midfielder, has been one of the names who is on the priority list for The Blues in the next season. The Belgian midfielder is regarded as one of the best products of his country’s golden generation and is held in the highest regard alike his compatriots Eden Hazard and Marouane Fellaini among others.
The Belgian midfielder is known for his versatility on the pitch. He prefers to play in a central role but is at times deployed in the right side of midfield. In times of crisis, he can also come down deep into the midfield to act as a shield in front of the backline. He can also unleash powerful long shots from the midfield to end up in the back of the opposition goal.
Chelsea coach Antonio Conte is eyeing a player who can play shoulder to shoulder with his team’s midfield maestro N’Golo Kante, and Radja Nainggolan seems to fit his bill perfectly.
Reportedly, scouts from the West London club were present at the recently played match, which Roma played against their arch-rivals Juventus in the Italian Serie A. Nainggolan scored a crucial goal against the League leaders Juventus to turn the result of the encounter in favour of his team by 3-1.
With the future of their Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas in jeopardy, Chelsea is looking for reinforcements to be ready at their hands in case he decides to leave the club in the next season. Reportedly, the Spaniard is not happy with Antonio Conte not starting with him for most of the season since the arrival of N’Golo Kante and might look to depart from Stamford Bridge at the end of the current season. In that case, Nainggolan can be looked up as a perfect replacement for the ageing Spaniard.
