In what has panned out to be one of the most notable seasons for Celtic in its entire history, Moussa Dembele has unarguably emerged as one of the hottest properties which the Scottish Premiership has on offer. Under Brendan Rodgers’ regime, the Glasgow-based outfit has seemingly appeared to be in a class of their own and have erected their stature as the most impressive side on the Scottish soil this season. Every bit of appreciation they are receiving is the output for their relentless toil throughout the season.
Having already clinched the League Cup and the Scottish Premiership title, the Hoops are due to face Aberdeen in the finals of the Scottish Cup and that tells us a lot about the dominance they have successfully manoeuvred. However, a key asset like Dembele is subject to a lot of speculation and Celtic might eventually be tempted to sell him during the summer transfer window. In the upcoming seasons, the Bhoys should be targeting to find a strong footing for themselves in the Champions League and thus, if one of their key players sees the exit route, a shrewd replacement should be welcomed at the Celtic Park.
One of the youngsters the Champions of Scotland should put on their wish-list is Chelsea’s, Izzy Brown. Brown featured (after being shipped out of Stamford Bridge on loan) for Championship sides, Rotherham during the first half of the season and for Huddersfield Town in the second. The 20-year-old mustered 7 goals and 5 assists in 36 appearances in the English second division and has carved a fine reputation for himself. Amongst the other things, the youngster would have versatility on offer as he has been used everywhere in the attacking zone and there lies no reason whatsoever as to why he would not be handing Rodgers an excellent opportunity of bagging an attacker with sheer offensive instincts.
Brown emerged through the youth ranks of Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion and was eventually signed by Chelsea in 2013. With loan spells to Vitesse and the two clubs mentioned before, he has garnered adequate amount of experience, has proven that he can brilliantly exploit the frailties of opposition’s defence, has perennially been a threat during the counter-attacks and has decent pace in his legs to thrive well. With a move to the ranks of the Celts, he would be affording himself a bit of stability in his career and performing better and in the process, Celtic would be embarking upon something riveting.
