Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has voiced his admiration for Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack. The 25-year-old midfielder is out of contract at the end of this season and still hasn’t decided on his future. It might be an indication from the Rangers’ gaffer, who is an avid admirer of the player.
“I assess a lot of Scottish players, at least those who play against us. “Jack has not played for the last two matches – if I am not wrong – and maybe he won’t play against us on Wednesday. But because of his age, his quality and what he has done in the last two seasons, he is a player I like,” he said in a recent interview.
The Gers are very keen to have him on board for the next season. The Rangers have not been able to show their masterclass this season for which they are very famous. Particularly, they have been bottlenecked by their archrival Celtic as they have lost all the matches they have played against their fierce opponents.
Jack has earlier been linked with a big-money move to Major League Soccer. He has so far had an excellent season for his team and has inspired Aberdeen to finish as the runners-up this term. Rangers have been lacking that cutting edge in the midfield for which they had to suffer all over and Jack could just provide that striking balance and he would be a perfect player at the Ibrox.
Caixinha’s word might provoke the Dons to offer Jack new terms else they could lose him for free in the summer. Rangers would be significantly investing in signing new players after the debacle in this season. The absence of a quality controller in the middle of the park has jolted the Gers’ season and Caixinha needs to address this concern.
Jack would be a free player once the season ends and he could be a huge signing if Caixinha convinces him to leave the Pittodrie stadium. He has been handed the armband this season and he has given his team solidarity when it comes to leading his team from the front.
The Scottish midfielder has racked up 37 appearances for Rangers in all competitions. He is set to miss his team’s clash against Rangers on Monday due to an injury but that doesn’t stop the gaffer from plotting a move for him. Jack could be deployed in more of a defensive role as the Rangers side have often caught exposed while defending a counter attack. In more ways than one, the 25-year old is a perfect fit for the Rangers.
