According to reports, Gremio president has dismissed the speculation that there are any specific offers for Luan from Liverpool. The Reds have been chasing the player for quite a long time and a deal was in place according to various reports. Jurgen Klopp is in the market for attacking reinforcements keeping in mind the Champions League in the upcoming season.
The wonder kid, who has often been compared with the likes of ‘Ronaldinho’, is valued at around £26m. Klopp will be desperate to add some prominent attackers on the sides and would love to have a third Brazilian forward after Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.
The Gremio President has rejected all the rumours regarding the youngster’s transfer. “Luan is a player who said he would have proposals but so far none have come, except for one about three years ago when he was on a different level. We have no approach, no official proposal (from Liverpool). We have absolutely no concrete proposal,” he said in a recent interview.a
The 24-year-old attacker is the subject of speculation as the Reds were on the verge of finalising a deal with Gremio the last time around. When it comes to doing business, Liverpool does have previous experience dealing with the club when they approached them for the services of Lucas Leiva.
Luan will be moving into his final year of the contract and that can be very vulnerable as the club will be in fear of losing him for nothing once his contract expires at the end of the next season. The Brazilian outfit needs to clear some of their debts and could reconsider their options as the Reds are desperate to acquire Luan’s services. Luan caught the eyes of everyone when Brazil won the Olympic medal. The youngster scored in the quarters, semis and in the final as Brazil went on to claim the gold medal.
He has the pace and flair to suit Klopp’s free flowing passing football. The Brazilian can be deployed anywhere across the front three and can also operate from the no. 10 position. The English side have played with a false nine throughout most of the season and landing a new forward would be one of the priorities for Klopp. His agent claimed that there was interest from Liverpool but nothing was concrete. “We do talk to Liverpool, as we talk to other clubs as well, but there is no proposal”.
It would be a treat to watch Luan playing alongside Firmino and Coutinho and the Reds need to act fast to secure the deal.
