Manchester City have a great chance of qualifying for Europe and the manager is already making plans for the next season. Pep Guardiola is looking at some of the brightest talents in world football and this might see a number of star players leave the club this summer.
One such player, whose place at the club is under jeopardy is Ivory Coast international Yaya Toure. Linked with an exit even at the start of the season, the 33-year old stayed at the club and has gone on to make 22 league appearances for the club. But Guardiola, like in his time at the Camp Nou, has seemingly decided to let Toure leave this summer. So where can Toure continue his football?
Here are three destinations for the former Barcelona man for the next season:
West Ham United:
The Hammers have had a very turbulent season, that was sponsored by their ever growing list of injuries to star players. They have used second choice players for most of the positions this season and are in the market to improve on a number of positions.
The midfield is something Slaven Bilic should work on. The current options in the squad lack creativity from midfield and Toure could be a superb addition. With Kouyate and Noble doing a decent job, adding Toure will add balance to the West Ham side, that can help them to Europe next season.
Newcastle United:
Rafa Benitez has helped the Toons back into the top flight in the first instance of asking and are expected to compete at the highest level next season. The manager has a few targets on his mind and Toure is one of them.
With valuable experience at the highest level, the 33-year old can help the Magpies put in a similar performance in the top flight like they did in the Championship this season. He is a free agent and will only cost them his wages.
Galatasaray:
The Turkish league is definitely on the rise and a couple of top clubs from Istanbul are all ready to spend big in the summer transfer window. It is hard for them to lure first team stars from clubs in England but Toure seems to be the perfect option for them.
Coming for free, and with loads of experience, Toure is expected to walk into the first team at the Turk Telecom Arena. It is a slightly less competitive league and at 33, it might be the best option for Toure.
