Chelsea is currently in fine form and is leading the race to become the Premier League Champions this term. They just need one win in their remaining games to be crowned the winners and are en route to win the double given they beat Arsenal in the Fa Cup Final to be played at Wembley.
However, the next season is undoubtedly going to be tough for the Blues as they have to face some of the biggest teams in the UEFA Champions League. Antonio Conte is already looking to revamp his side with players who can help his side continue their good run in the next season. The name that is on the top of their priority list is that of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Reportedly, Sanchez is not happy with the way things are shaping up currently regarding his future at the North London club and is looking for a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the next season. As per sources, the Chilean marksman has Chelsea as one of his preferred options to move to.
The relationship between Sanchez and current Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has soured to a great extent in the recent times, with the Frenchman making the mainstay of his team’s attack sit on the bench quite a few times throughout the season. This has reportedly infuriated the ex-Barcelona striker, who is not ready to commit his long-term future with the North London club.
Reports suggest that Sanchez has been looking for a hike in his salary in the current season and has denied penning down a new contract until there is no commitment from the North London club for resolving the issue. The Chilean forward has one more year left on his contract with the Gunners.
However, that might not be able to keep the mercurial forward back at the Emirates Stadium, as he is reportedly looking to start afresh with a new club in the new season. Chelsea, apart from Manchester City look to be the favourites to rope him in as their main man up front.
The Blues have been playing with Diego Costa as their lone striker throughout the current season, with the Spaniard scoring 18 goals so far for them. However, there is a strong possibility for the ex-Atletico Madrid striker to head to a new club, preferably in China, leaving Antonio Conte’s team to look for a player good enough to replace him at Stamford Bridge next term. Under the current circumstances, Sanchez looks to be the perfect player to fit the bill for Antonio Conte.
