Columbian superstar James Rodriguez has been out of favour under Real Madrid’s current manager Zinedine Zidane, who has left him on the bench for most of the season. With Gareth Bale playing a crucial role in attack alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, the Columbian forward has not been able to spend much time out on the pitch.
This has irked speculations that the Columbian skipper might leave Santiago Bernabeu in the next season and his probable destination is the Premier League. A number of big name clubs trying to lure Rodriguez into their team for quite a long time since his exceptional display in the last football World Cup.
However, no offer has yet been confirmed from the side of Real Madrid and the Columbian might have to stay back with the Galacticos in the next season as well.
Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool are all rumoured to be linked with the Columbian ace into their team for the current season. However, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea look to be the top contenders in the race to secure the Real Madrid forward’s services for the next season.
With Wayne Rooney not in the best of form and Zlatan Ibrahimovic having injury concerns that might keep him out of the team for most of the next season, there might be a good chance for Jose Mourinho to bring in a top class forward. In this scenario, James Rodriguez can be the best option to fit the bill for the Red Devils manager. He also has the experience of playing under the coaching of the Portuguese mastermind when Mourinho was the manager at Real Madrid.
Manchester City, on the other hand, has been trying their best to regulate the deal for the Real Madrid star in their favour. Pep Guardiola, the current coach of Manchester City, spent a long time of his coaching career in Spain with Barcelona and thus knows about the strengths of the Columbian forward quite well. This might turn out to be helpful in case the Galactico ditches Manchester United and settles for their arch rivals at the Etihad Stadium.
Other than the above two, current League leaders Chelsea are also looking to make a bid for the Columbian skipper during the summer transfer window. With the possibility of Diego Costa leaving after this season, Antonio Conte is in dire need of a world class forward and James Rodriguez seems to be a good choice to be brought in at Stamford Bridge.
