Bayern Munich will have the opportunity to test their younger players, after sealing the Bundesliga title for the fifth consecutive time last week. The German giants lead the table by a whopping ten points and will seek to end Darmstadt’s fairytale story in the Bundesliga this weekend.
The Minnows, Darmstadt are down right at the bottom of the table with just 24 points and nothing less than a win in all of their last three matches could help them survive the drop. Here is the predicted Bayern Munich lineup to start this weekend.
Predicted 4-3-3 Bayern Munich Lineup To Knock Darmstadt Out Of The Bundesliga
Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer will remain injured for the rest of the season, meaning backup keeper Sven Ulreich will once again have the opportunity to prove his worth in the Bayern squadron.
Right Back: Philip Lahm is expected to lead the side on Saturday, in what will be one of his last three matches as a professional footballer. The German world champion announced retirement after the end of this season, and a Champions League triumph could have been the perfect thing to cap off his extraordinary career.
Center Back(R): Jerome Boateng will feature as the right-sided centre-back for Bayern. He looked pretty strong in his last few games and will look to continue that run against Darmstadt.
Center Back(L): Mats Hummels will partner Jerome Boateng, his International teammate with Germany. The former Dortmund defender has managed to make an impact after coming for a hefty fee of 35 million euros last summer.
Left Back: Juan Bernat might start ahead of number one left-back David Alaba. Chances have been few and far for Bernat this season, and he might be on his way out of the Allianz Arena if a decent offer comes around this summer.
Central Defensive Midfielder: Renato Sanches might finally get a starting berth in the Bayern team. Interestingly, the Portuguese midfielder played only one full-length game after coming in from Benfica for a massive 35 million euros last summer.
Central Midfielder: Arturo Vidal is expected to start in his normal position against Darmstadt. He will be pivotal against the likes of Niemeyer and Gondorf. However, young midfielder Joshua Kimmich also makes a strong case of starting in midfield, thanks to his amazing performance against Wolfsburg last week.
Central Midfielder: Thiago Alcantara will look to cap off his excellent season with some glittering performances in the final few games. The Spanish International is all set to cause a lot of trouble for Darmstadt this weekend.
Right Wing: It will be interesting to see as to who starts as the right winger for FC Bayern. Arjen Robben has been in blistering form for the entire season but Douglas Costa might be given an opportunity following his lack of chances in the team sheet this season.
Left Wing: Franck Ribery will look make an early impact to put Darmstadt off. The Frenchman has also been in splendid touch this season, only to be bogged down by frequent injuries.
Striker: It seems as if Robert Lewandowski will once again beat Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the leading goal scorers’ title this season. The Polish International currently lead the charts by scoring 27 goals, with the Gabonese just trailing him by one. Goals will be must for the predator, that is Robert Lewandowski. Thomas Muller might also be an option later on.
