After securing a place in the Europa League semi-final, Manchester United is now eyeing a place in the top four and en route to their way they have to beat the challenge of Burnley at the Turf Moor. Jose Mourinho would like to avoid another dull draw like they did in the last fixture. They played a goalless draw with the Clarets at the Old Trafford but will be looking to get full three points against them.
The Red Devils will be a bit tired as the hectic fixtures have taken a toll on all of the players but Mourinho knows how to get the best out of his players and should be up for the challenge. United have been unbeaten in the Premier League for the last 22 matches but this trip to Turf Moor would provide a stiff test to Mourinho. Burnley won’t budge before them and will put up a solid display in the hope for an upset.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Starting Lineup against Burnley
Defence
David De Gea will be restored to the starting lineup once again. He had nothing much to do against Chelsea as the visiting side hadn’t registered a shot for the first time in this season.
Daley Blind will be drafted into the starting lineup after the injury to Marcos Rojo.
Eric Bailly appeared to have the only fit central back at Mourinho’s disposal and he can’t afford to lose him.
It seems Luke Shaw will return to the starting lineup after putting up a good performance in the Europa League.
Antonio Valencia is irreplaceable in this team and will surely take a part in this match.
Midfield
Ander Herrera was the main architect behind United’s superb win over Chelsea. Mourinho did give him some rest and he would be very eager to replicate his form for his team.
Michael Carrick has been very important to United’s campaign in this season and is expected to get a place in the starting lineup. He has performed reasonably well this season.
Attack
Paul Pogba was quite brilliant against Anderlecht. His fluid skills and accurate passing had caused problems to the Belgian side and if he is in the form he can be very dangerous.
Anthony Martial is slated for a start on the left flank.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan will try to maintain his form on the right side of the attack.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out for the season after he ruptured his cruciate ligament. Marcus Rashford will be the obvious replacement for him.
