Diego Costa, the nemesis upfront for Chelsea’s opponent teams, is reportedly looking to leave the club this summer. Costa has been one of the most influential players in the recent times for the London club and has been an integral part of the current league leaders’ line-up.
This is supposed to be a hell of a blow for the two times Premier League champions. Antonio Conte has been relying on the 28-year-old forward to score goals for his side since he arrived at Stamford Bridge and the Spaniard has not disappointed the Italian tactician.
This season alone, Diego Costa has scored 17 goals in 30 appearances in the Premier League. He has been an inevitable part of the Blues and has been the spearhead of Conte’s attacking strategies on the field.
Reportedly, Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian have been pulling a lot of strings to get the hot property of the Premier League side in their team. The team has been pursuing Costa for quite a long time and is ready to give splurge as much as £90million to secure the services of the Spaniard.
However, Chelsea will let go off Diego Costa only after they secure the services of a replacement striker. Costa’s current agreement with Chelsea ends in 2019.
Antonio Conte is looking to bring a star striker to Stamford Bridge who, in case Diego Costa leaves, will be able to fill in his shoes.
There have also been speculations about the arrival of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata from Santiago Bernabeu, as the youngster is not happy with the amount of time out on the pitch handed to him by Zinedine Zidane.
Rumours are that something similar has been causing Diego Costa to move away from the London side. He had quite a few outings on the pitch for the blues this season, which is not up to the Spaniard’s expectations. The striker has been mercurial for the Premier League side this season with his impeccable finishing, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat quite a few times during the season.
Antonio Conte has to think of some alternate option soon enough for the departing Spaniard, who has a temper as big as his scoring ability. The Spaniard has been reprimanded quite a few times by the referees and the English Football Association for his angry behaviour on the pitch, sometimes even getting physical with the opposition players.
