Tottenham Hotspur will have the chance to cut back their gap with League leaders Chelsea when they welcome Bournemouth to the White Hart Lane provided the other result goes their way. Spurs have been ruthless at their home having won 14 matches and drawing the remaining two.
They are yet to lose a match at their fortress but Bournemouth will head to the North London with confidence as they have lost a single match in the last six matches.
Under the tutelage of Mauricio Pochettino, Spurs have emerged as one of the title contenders. It’s all Chelsea as of now but things could be different in the upcoming weeks.
Chelsea will be facing a tricky visit to the Old Trafford and any upset in this match would be a ‘light at the end of tunnel’ for Spurs but it remains to be seen how they perform in the remaining matches.
Harry Kane vs Steve Cook
Harry Kane has been in prolific form this season too but successive injuries have been a problem for him as he had to miss a number of matches. Despite being sidelined for a while, the England international has found the net 19 times in the Premier League which is quite impressive.
Steve Cook has been a mainstay in the Bournemouth defence and has lead the charge to guide the team from the front. Cook will be under significant challenge from Harry Kane who is a typical goal poacher and is very dangerous inside the penalty box. If Cook manages to keep Kane under control half the battle will be won.
Joshua King vs Spurs defence
King will be against a Spurs defence which has been in top notch form throughout this season. The trio of Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Jan Vertonghen have been the best defensive lineup in the Premier League this season. Collectively they have conceded only 22 goals so far which is by far the best numbers among the Premier League teams.
On the other hand, King’s prolific scoring has helped Bournemouth end their long-standing problem in front of the goal. The 25-year-old has 13 goals in his tally and will give a stiff completion to the Tottenham defence.
Dele Alli vs Jack Wilshere
Alli has been in superb form and if Spurs do win the Premier League which is looking bleak at the moment, the English midfielder should be given his due credit.
Jack Wilshere has performed pretty decent for the Cherries moreover he has succeeded to keep himself fit for the maximum time of this season. It will be a battle between the two English midfielders and we could expect an interesting duel.
