After a disappointing and humiliating 4:1 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund will look to make amends as they set their sights on the Champions League. Thomas Tuchel’s men will host French outfit AS Monaco, who are responsible for Man City’s dismissal from the UCL, on Tuesday at the Signal Iduna Park. It will be a contest between two similar sides, as both of them have a strong attacking lineup but a weak defence. Here is the expected Borussia Dortmund lineup to feature against Les Monégasques.

Goalkeeper: Roman Burki sure had his worst game in 2017 against Bayern. The Swiss goalkeeper looked clueless for most period of the game. He needs to come back stronger against a strong Monaco side.
Right Back: First choice starter Lukasz Piszczek is out with an injury which paves the way for Felix Passlack to start his third consecutive games in a row. He has been disappointing so far, and a good performance against Monaco might just be the spark he needed.
Centre Back: Sokratis will be vitally important for Borussia Dortmund. Even in the worst games, the Greek centre-back stands like a warrior. If Dortmund are to stop the Monaco brigade, Sokratis’ performance has to be a substantial factor.
Centre Back: Matthias Ginter will deputise Marc Bartra, who is suspended for the clash. The young German centre-back hasn’t been great in defence and he will try to avoid his mediocre performances in order to contain the visitors.
Left Back: Marcel Schmelzer wasn’t 100% fit against Bayern but on Tuesday he will lead his Dortmund troops against the French outfit. Schmelzer’s experience will be a key.
Central Defensive Midfielder: Unfortunately for Thomas Tuchel, important midfielder Julian Weigl is expected to miss out on Tuesday. Sebastian Rode is expected to start in place of the young 21-year-old German International.
Right Wing: Christian Pulisic will look to put in a strong display after an awful match against Bayern. The American wonderkid is sure to possess a substantial threat for the weak Monaco defence. His pace and agility coupled with his ability to score goals would be useful for Thomas Tuchel.
Central Attacking Midfielder: Gonzalo Castro and Shinji Kagawa are all doubtful for the clash versus Monaco. As a result, Raphael Guerreiro will move into central midfielder to instigate Dortmund’s flow from the middle. He was easily the best Dortmund player on the field against Bayern and also scored a gem of a goal. A similar performance is a necessity for Dortmund if they are to beat high-flying Monaco.
Central Attacking Midfielder: Emre Mor is expected to start in attacking midfield due to the absence of a series of Dortmund midfielders. He was in fiery form in the international friendlies, and a good performance will set the tone perfectly for the young Turkish International.
Left Wing: Ousmane Dembele might just be the most key member of the Dortmund squad on Tuesday. He lacked focus and concentration against Bayern but in Monaco, he will face a club he’s quite used to playing against due to his past stint with Stade Rennais in Ligue 1.
Striker: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been very good in the Champions League so far. He scored his first knockout stage goal in the competition against Benfica. But Dortmund would want some more goals in order to outclass their opponents and Aubameyang seems to be the perfect man to do so.
