Leicester City have turned around their awful form and have become a mid-table force under Craig Shakespeare. The Foxes have won their last five matches in the Premier League and will face Everton in the next match and will hope to see themselves higher in the Premier League table. The Toffees were very unlucky not to get full points against Manchester United as Zlatan Ibrahimovic converted a late penalty to deny them from getting three points.
Leicester somehow managed to display a bit of urgency in their last few matches as the defending champions displayed good football under their new manager. The club hierarchy was much criticised after they decided to part ways with Claudio Ranieri but it seems they took the right decision as Shakespeare has turned this team into somewhere close to the title winning side.
Everton’s home form has been impressive as they have won all the last six matches at the Goodison Park and will welcome Leicester on the back of a strong performance against Manchester United. Three points in the last match would have set the tone for the remainder of the season but Ronald Koeman would hope to see his side emulating their last meeting in the Premier League where the Toffees were the better side with a 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Team News & Predicted Lineups
Everton
Up against a team in form, Koeman would have loved to have his full squad at his disposal but it is very unfortunate that the Dutchman has only a handful number of players to pick from. Morgan Schneiderlin could make a comeback to the starting lineup. The gaffer will be without Seamus Coleman, Yannick Bolasie and James McCarthy. Ashley Williams has to sit out in this match as he got the marching orders in the last match.
Robles; Holgate, Pennington, Jagielka, Baines; Barry, Gueye; Davies, Barkley, Mirallas, Lukaku
Leicester City
Captain Wes Morgan and Nampalys Mendy have injuries and will miss the match.
Schmeichel; Benalouane, Fuchs, Huth, Simpson; Drinkwater, Ndidi; Slimani, Mahrez, Albrighton, Vardy
Key Players
Everton
Ross Barkley has managed to earn the confidence of Ronald Koeman and has answered his critics with some smooth performances. With captain Wes Morgan missing, Barkley has to take this moment to stop Leicester’s run. His delayed runs into the box and clever interchange of passes could be the x-factor that Koeman has been looking for.
Leicester City
Riyad Mahrez is looking very dangerous at this moment and in these circumstances, he would be the ideal man on whom Shakespeare can rely.
