Antonio Conte is reportedly very interested in re-signing Ryan Bertrand from Southampton. The left back has been absolutely dominant in the Premier League for the Saints this season.
The 27-year-old had a brief stay at the Stamford Bridge having arrived at the club at the age of 16 from Gillingham. He had a number of loan stint at various clubs before securing a permanent move to Southampton in 2015 for a fee of around £10m.
But after watching his progress at the St Mary’s, Conte has reportedly asked the club hierarchy to look into his transfer. The player is valued at around £25m and Chelsea needs to shell at least this amount to have a shot at the player.
Bertrand is the only player who made his European debut in a Champions League final which Chelsea went on to win against Bayern Munich in 2012. We have seen Chelsea resigning players with the likes of Nemanja Matic and David Luiz in the past and looks like they are yet again going to repeat the feat.
