Imagine where the Premier League has come to! Once £30m could get you arguably the best player in the Premier League, Eden Hazard. Now, it gets you Yannick Bolasie. Yes, Everton are closing in on the signing of Yannick Bolasie from Crystal Palace in a deal which could rise to £30m. Selling Bolasie for such a ludicrous fee would be a great deal from Crystal Palace’s point of view and the Eagles have already found the replacement of the DR Congo international in free agent Hal Robson-Kanu according to The Mirror.
A free transfer for Robson-Kanu, one of the standout performers in the Euro 2016 would be a shrewd addition to Crystal Palace. The Welshman is well-capable of filling in the boots of Bolasie, who despite all the hype he gets is a poor finisher. From the business point of view, replacing Bolasie with free agent Robson-Kanu and getting £30m from the Congo international’s sale would be a win-win deal for the South Londoners.
It still amazes me that Robson-Kanu, who set the Euro 2016 on fire just a month ago, is still up for grabs and that too on a free transfer. The Welshman is a player who can ply his trade anywhere across the attacking third. Predominantly a left winger, the 27-year-old has often been used as the focal point of the attack by managers and he has delivered on most occasions.

After almost a decade of service at the Madejski Stadium, Robson-Kanu departed Reading this summer with his contract expiry, the club he had been with since 2007. During his time at the club, the Welshman had the highs and lows of his career. Even though he had his struggles for consistency, now entering his peak, the Welshman can become a much better player in the coming years.
Many touted Wales as the dark horse in the Euro 2016 but the reason for that was probably Gareth Bale but very few could have imagined that Robson-Kanu will have a tournament to remember as an individual. He notched the winner in Wales’ opening group game against Slovakia and perhaps scored the goal of the tournament in the historic 3-1 win against Belgium in the quarter-finals.
High will be the Welshman’s morale when he joins Crystal Palace and he will be keen to impress in the Premier League which is the dream league for most footballers in the globe. The 27-year-old will add a lot of firepower to Alan Pardew’s attack and can become a great success story at Selhurst Park. Getting a versatile player like him who can be deployed anywhere up front and that too on a free transfer would be a masterstroke from Pardew.
