Andrew Robertson- The 23-year-old Scotland international was one of the hottest prospects in the winter transfer window with many mid-table clubs enquiring about the young left-back. And if not for the appointment of new boss Marco Silva, who had more or less brought an air of confidence with immediate results, Robertson’s departure looked imminent.
A left-back by nature, Robertson is also comfortable playing on the wing in an advanced role. Despite his young age, Robertson has been a crucial first team member of his team and has already played over 100 games for the Tigers. He even has 13 international caps, where he debuted as young 20-year-old. Robertson has caught everyone’s attention with his superb passing and dribbling abilities. Hull City are still in the relegation zone with nine games to go, and Rafael Benitez can surely take his chances.
Carl Jenkinson- The Arsenal full-back has been pretty much exiled by the club following is nightmarish displays in the Premier League. Prior to the winter transfer window, the England international was suffering from underconfidence.
Jenkinson last played a match back in November and is yet to feature since then. In the Under-23s too, he has managed only five appearances. With a brilliant option in Vurnon Anita in the right-back position, Benitez can have the perfect bench player in Jenkinson. He earlier played for West Ham United’s first team and is just a matter of time before he gets his ground back.
Phil Jagielka- The former Everton skipper has lost his place in the Toffees first team with manager Ronald Koeman putting his trust on Funes-Mori and Holgate more of late, alongside Ashley Williams. The former England international is looking elsewhere where he could end his career on a high note.
Newcastle United have a brilliant central defensive pairing in Ciaran Clark and Jamaal Lascelles, who have been showered with applauds this season. However, with the traction that Lascelles has received, it would be difficult for Newcastle United to hold the player after this season, with many Premier league clubs interested.
Getting a full-proof centre-half is a humungous task for a newly promoted side, and the option of a 34-year-old Jagielka, who has played a staggering 319 games in English football could be just perfect. The fact that he is not injury prone makes him all the more valuable. His contract with Everton ends in 2018 and Koeman would definitely dispose of him if Newcastle make the right offer.
