Barcelona have some huge targets for the coming transfer window as the club plans an overhaul to the side after the departure of Luis Enrique. According to reports, the Catalans are weighing up an astronomical bid for either Paulo Dybala or Antoine Griezmann as they aim to increase competition to their attacking line-up.
Barcelona, undoubtedly, have the best attacking trio in the world and one of their biggest concerns has been to find a proper back-up for them. Lionel Messi has developed more of a central role in the side with age as the Argentine has found his stamina and pace exhausting. And with Andres Iniesta reaching towards the end of his career, Barcelona are probably envisaging their best player to start alongside Ivan Rakitic in the attacking midfield.
And while both Dybala and Griezmann could be brilliant additions to the side and would justify the right-wing role ideally, there is very little chance that Messi’s compatriot Dybala would come to Nou Camp. In a recent news report, it was revealed that the 23-year-old has refused to play with Lionel Messi and Neymar; and he prefers a move to Santiago Bernabeu.
It was also reported that the Juventus forward, who has scored 37 goals and 16 assists in 78 games for Juventus, has agreed on a move with Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez this summer with the Los Blancos willing to trade Isco, Alvaro Morata or Kovacic plus cash for him.
The Atletico Madrid forward has been the hottest prospect in the coming transfer window and although he hasn’t shown much interest in a move to Manchester United, he seems to have kept a door open for the Catalans.
Apparently, in a recent interview, the player quite openly expressed his desire to play with the European football giants when asked about his possible move to Real or Barca. He stated, “Why not? That’s the dream for every player – to be at big clubs like that or Bayern Munich…. But right now, I don’t see myself at Barcelona or Real, or anywhere else. I have no intention of leaving Atletico Madrid, for Paris Saint-Germain, China, the USA, Russia, or elsewhere.”
The 26-year-old French international has been phenomenal in the La Liga since moving from Real Sociedad. He has netted a whopping 79 goals and 24 assists in 147 games playing for Atletico Madrid, which includes his 14 goals and 8 assists in the current season. Griezmann has been directly involved in 10 goals in the last 10 games so far, which explains his craze among top clubs and Barcelona would likely have to shell out a minimum of €100million (£86m) to land him going by the transfer fees nowadays.
A centre-forward by nature, Griezmann can play equally well on either flank. Whether it’s finishing, dribbling, or taking world class free kicks, he excels in all and would definitely make Barcelona invincible.
