Celtic are due to face Dundee at the Dens Park on Sunday in the Ladbrokes Premiership which certainly wouldn’t be an easy fixture in any manner. Brendan Rodgers’ outfit failed to collect all three points against their arch rivals Rangers last weekend as Clint Hill’s goal in the dying minutes of the game made sure that the game ended all square.
Nonetheless, the Bhoys are well on course to go on and clinch the title as being an invincible side throughout the league campaign and here is how they might start against Paul Hartley’s troops.
Defence
Craig Gordon should start once again under the bar against Dundee. The 34-year-old goalkeeper must be gutted not to have bagged a clean sheet against the Gers but considering the absence of Dorus de Vries owing to his foot injury, Gordon should be a sure-shot starter.
Right ahead of him, we are likely to see Rodgers setting out a four-man defensive wall. In the right-back slot, we expect Mikael Lustig to get a nod once again whereas on the other side, sensational youngster Kieran Tierney should start the proceedings. The starlet has been one of the glossiest prospects to have emerged from the Hoops’ setup and has reduced Emilio Izaguirre’s stature to that of a deputy in the left-back role.
At the heart of their defence, Eric Sviatchenko and Jozo Simunovic are expected to be partnered with the latter expected to come in for Dedryck Boyata as the former Liverpool gaffer might tinkle a bit with the resources he has at his disposal.
Midfield
Tom Rogic still remains an absentee and in the central midfield, we are likely to see the duo of Callum McGregor and Scott Brown. Nir Bitton was plucked out of the game for not getting his basics right at the Celtic Park last weekend and thus, a chance must be given to McGregor to prove a point.
To be used from the no. 10 role should be the scorer against the Light Blues, Stuart Armstrong, as his touch of class could be relied on once again.
Attack
Against the Dark Blues, there is little doubt about Moussa Dembele getting a nod to start up front. The Frenchman has been in venomous form so far this season and to lend him helping hands from the wings, Scott Sinclair on the left wing and James Forrest on the right would make a perfect combination to breeze past Dundee.
