Rangers are going through a period of transition and it was expected, for getting back into the top tier of Scottish football wasn’t going to be enough. Pedro Caixinha might not be a household name but Rangers have rolled the dice and what is to transpire shall echo in the pages of history. The Portuguese, who has previously managed Qatar-based outfit in the shape of Al-Gharafa, has been appointed by the Light Blues after intense speculation and it would not be absurd to underline that the Scottish side has taken a humungous risk with respect to their managerial situation.
It is likely that we could see an exodus once the curtain of the summer transfer window gets lifted and likewise, incomings under the new gaffer could be imminent as well. Apart from making galvanising investments, the 46-year-old could also turn his neck towards making shrewd deals with minimum or no transfer fee involved to make his troops start clicking in the best possible manner and one of the players they should place on their radar is Zenit St. Petersburg’s veteran midfielder Danny.
Having joined Zenit from Dynamo Moscow all the way back in 2008 for a whopping transfer fee of €30million, widespread scepticism erupted owing to the jaw-dropping fee that was paid for the Portuguese international. Slowly but surely, Danny proved his intrinsic value by being an impeccable attacking midfielder down the left flank, making inhuman toil and creating bundles of chances for his teammates.

Danny had developed a fine reputation for himself in Russian’s top tier but has fallen behind in the pecking order this season and considering that his deal expires in the summer, Caixinha should leave no stone unturned to make him a marquee signing for the Teddy Bears.
These two had worked together before at Sporting Lisbon and thus, getting along shouldn’t really be an issue. Moreover, Danny is a serial winner and Rangers are in a dire need for a leader to inject a winning mentality in their veins to go toe-to-toe with Celtic next season onwards.
