Leicester City created history by defeating Sevilla to book a place in the Champions League quarter-final and will next face West Ham United and hope to continue their dream run this season. Since Craig Shakespeare took charge, the Foxes haven’t lost a match. They defeated Liverpool and Hull in successive matches and have carried their form to the Champions League to notch an excellent win.
But Leicester will now have to turn their face to Premier League. The defending champions are in 15th place and will try to finish as high as possible in the table. They have scored three goals each in the last two Premier League matches and would definitely fancy their chances against West Ham.
The defending champions had a disastrous start to their new campaign and were uncomfortably close to the relegation zone. Back to back victories against Liverpool and Hull City have boosted their chances to finish in a better position though. A place in the Champions League quarter-final might inspire their Premier League run and if they continue their current form they might finish in the upper half of the table. Shakespeare will stick to the same lineup against a depleted West Ham.
Predicted 4-4-1-1 Leicester City Lineup Vs West Ham United
Defence
Kasper Schmeichel saved a penalty against Sevilla and will be hoping to maintain his form in the Premier League.
Robert Huth and Wes Morgan are set to continue in the Foxes’ backline. Leicester failed to keep a clean sheet in the last two matches and they have to be very careful as the threat of Andy Carroll and Manuel Lanzini will loom large.
Christian Fuchs and Danny Simpson have been consistent and should start as the two full-backs.
Midfield
Danny Drinkwater and Onyinye Ndidi have been regulars in the starting lineup and will try to exploit the Hammers’ midfield. Drinkwater has played a pivotal part in their revival of form and we can see some interesting duels on the pitch.
Attack
Marc Albrighton will be called up to start on the left wing. The 27-year old scored the all-important winner against Sevilla to make the next round of the Champions League.
Riyad Mahrez was absolutely brilliant on the right flank and Shakespeare will unleash his best player to do some damage to the Hammers.
Shinji Okazaki will operate just behind Jamie Vardy to utilise the space.
Vardy missed a number of chances in the last match and will try to make amends aginst West Ham.
