Bayern Munich once again strolled to a win over Eintracht Frankfurt, the side which provided a substantial amount of trouble in the reverse fixture. However, Lewandowski’s brace along with a goal from Douglas Costa guided the record champions to a comfortable 3:0 win over Niko Kovac’s side, now on a five-game losing streak. The win takes Bayern ten points clear at the top, as both Leipzig and Dortmund dropped points this week. Here are the Bayern Munich player ratings in their emphatic win over the Eagles.
Manuel Neuer(8/10): It was unexpectedly a quiet night for Manuel Neuer. However, he did get called into action a couple of times. Overall, it was an easy clean sheet for the German International captain, his 12th of the season.
Philip Lahm(8/10): Thrived at right flank, the Bayern captain continues to perform well even in the final moments of his career as a professional football. Too bad he will retire at the end of the season.
Javi Martinez(7.5/10): It was a decent outing for Javi Martinez, whose performance got completely overshadowed by Mats Hummels. The Spanish International was solid at the back nonetheless.
Mats Hummels(9.5/10): Had an outstanding game, arguably his best as a Bayern player. Made one of the best tackles in the league to deny Branimir Hrgota score from an open goal. His performance snowballed from then on. A remarkable defensive work kept Eintracht at bay for the entirety of the game.
David Alaba(8.5/10): Was a menace at left flank, often raging up and down the left side of the pitch, the Austrian International was a handful for the opposition. Completely outclassed Michael Hector to put a cross which led to Douglas Costa’s goal.
Arturo Vidal(8/10): Vidal’s industrialism was a vital asset for Carlo Ancelotti’s men in the middle against an equally impressive Eintracht midfield. His level of determination and commitment made life difficult for the opposition.
Thiago Alcantara(8/10): Dictated the tempo throughout the game, as the Spanish International continues to showcase why he’s one of Bayern’s most prized assets. Controlled possession for the most part of the game, keeping the opposition defence busy running without the ball.
Douglas Costa(7.5/10): Had a rather quiet game in the right flank but a goal in the first half overshadowed his ineffective display in the first half. Ended up having a decent game against the Eagles.
Thomas Muller(8.5/10): Looks way better when deployed as a centre attacking midfield, as he gets a lot of freedom to act as a space creator in the final third. His positional sense enables himself to find space for his teammates. Did a great job to pick out Lewandowski for the first goal.
Arjen Robben(8.5/10): He was an absolute menace down the right flank. Combined well with the fullback to put pressure on the Frankfurt defence, relentlessly. A great game once again for the Dutchman.
Robert Lewandowski(9/10): Another excellent performance from the Polish International striker. It was also a milestone as the former Dortmund man scored his 100th goal as a Bayern player, while also netting his 21st of the season, just one below top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
