Manager- Jurgen Klopp
Despite Arsene Wenger’s team holding a better position in the league table than Liverpool, the French manager’s record against the top six of the league hasn’t been a very encouraging one. Klopp, on the other hand, though has been on the receiving end of a number of frustrating defeats against relegation-threatened sides. But against the top sides, his record speaks for itself.
Petr Cech
The Czech international definitely holds the upper hand when compared to Liverpool’s Mignolet. The former Chelsea goalie has been an integral part of Arsenal’s success in the past three seasons and is expected to play a big role in Saturday’s game.
Kieran Gibbs
Other than his disastrous night away at Allianz Arena two weeks back, the English full-back has been pretty consistent for Arsenal this season. The immense competition with the experienced Nacho Monreal for that position has really brought out the best in him.
Laurent Koscielny
Arsenal’s back line is hugely dependent on this man. After he was subbed in the second half against Bayern, the full team collapsed and Wenger would be careful the same doesn’t happen this time.
Joel Matip
Liverpool’s back line has been subject to tremendous criticism of late for their poor displays and the only man who seems to have performed to the mark is the Egyptian centre-half. His big frame is a huge asset from set-pieces and his disciplined defending has often been applauded by many.
Hector Bellerin
The Spanish youngster hasn’t had the best of seasons so far but his talent is undeniable. Arguably the best prospect in the Premier League in the right-back’s role, Bellerin’s pace could be worrying for any defence.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
The attacking midfielder is in fierce form lately and he has been hugely efficient from the midfield as was evident in Arsenal’s FA Cup tie against Southampton, where he completely bossed that position.
Adam Lallana
Although he has gone off the boil in recent matches, the English midfielder has been Liverpool’s most utility player since his return from injury and if Liverpool are to salvage their drowning season, he will have to play a huge role.
James Milner
With Jordan Henderson hugely doubtful for the game and Emre Can not the most reliable of defenders, we expect the side-back to take back his previous, cherished role in the midfield.
Phillipe Coutinho
The Brazilian has been Liverpool’s best player so far. He has scored six goals and registered five assists from 19 appearances. His mesmerising free kick was the main source of inspiration for Liverpool’s comeback win over Arsenal on the first day of the season.
Alexis Sanchez
Premier League’s joint highest scorer at the moment, the Chilean is the most effective forward at the moment when Arsenal are in the momentum. His tenacity to run behind defenders makes him all the more dangerous.
Sadio Mane
Liverpool looked spineless and crippled in their attack when this African player was off to the AFCON. He started in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Tottenham where he scored a brace.
