Ex-Liverpool player Luis Garcia has told the Liverpool players to focus on their next game and forget their defeat to Leicester City. The Reds suffered a shambolic 3-1 defeat at the hands of the defending Champions on Monday.
Jamie Vardy bagged a brace and Danny Drinkwater scored a stunner as the Foxes injected new life into their disastrous campaign. Liverpool defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the previous match but failed miserably against Leicester. The Merseyside club have had a tendency of losing points against the small teams.
The Reds are currently fifth with 49 points but have played a match more than sixth-placed Manchester United. They will take on Arsenal this Saturday at Anfield.
Garcia said,
“After the great game we saw against Tottenham, a fantastic result, we had a break and I think most of us were probably expecting to see the same team [against Leicester] because we have a fantastic chance to get involved in the top four.
“I think Leicester did a good job, they knew what to do and they did well. After the first goal Liverpool couldn’t get the rhythm of the game. It was surprising, but we have to continue looking forward and keep working.”
