Swansea City have bounced back after registering three wins in their last five matches and will be looking to carry on their form when they take on Burnley in the next match. Paul Clement has made a significant number of changes to the team and the results are clearly showing. The Swans who were once in the relegation zone are right now sitting in the 16th place in the Premier League.
Swansea have lost only once in the last seven meetings against the Clarets and would like to maintain that form. Paul Clement’s addition has done wonders for the club and they are ready to keep up the momentum.
They lost to Chelsea 3-1 after a very impressive display. The Wales club conceded two goals in the second half otherwise, it could have been a different result. Clement would love to maintain the momentum against Burnley who haven’t managed a win in their last three matches. Given their current form, Clement is likely to go in for full points against the Clarets. Three points at the Liberty against the team who have the worst away record in the League would be a boost for Clement’s side.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Swansea lineup vs Burnley
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski is set to keep his place in the Swansea goal. The 31-year-old has been error prone for them but will keep his place in the starting lineup. Alfie Mawson and Federico Fernandez will be the central defenders and need to keep things tight. Martin Olsson and Kyle Naughton will be deployed on the left and right side of the defence respectively.
Midfield
Clement will be relying on Jack Cork as the defensive midfielder and he will have the task to break up the attacks of the Clarets. Cork will act as a defensive shield to give an extra protection to the four-man backline and will be having Tom Carroll as his partner. Leroy Fer, after his impressive displays, might start in an advanced role and might be in the No.10 position.
Attack
Gylfi Sigurdsson is expected to start on the left wing. The Icelandic international has netted eight times this season and has laid on another nine goals for the Wales side. Wayne Routledge will be on the right wing as Nathan Dyer is injured. Fernando Llorente is expected to start upfront. The Spaniard has scored nine goals so far this season and will have the chance to add a few more to his tally.
