Owners of Chinese club Tianjin Quanjin have claimed they did make a bid of £90m for Diego Costa. The bid was rejected by the Blues as expected.
Diego Costa’s future with the West London club was the subject of intense speculation as the Spaniard was involved in a training ground bust-up with manager Antonio Conte. He was subsequently dropped from the Leicester City match which they eventually won 3-0 without their main striker.
The 28-year-old has been in brutal form this season scoring 17 goals in 28 matches for them. If Chelsea does win the Premier League this season they will be indebted towards him.
Shu Yuhui, owner of Quanjin has revealed that they tabled an offer for the Chelsea hitman.
“Theoretically speaking, there is no limit on transfer budget in the summer. We can target whoever we want.
“But on several occasions, our targets are reluctant to join us.
“We made an attempt for Pato last year but he is not willing to come because our club was still in second division then. After we get promoted, he came.”
