Hull City will be looking to bounce back with a win against Burnley this weekend after they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal last time out. Burnley, on the hand, will go into the game brimming with confidence after successfully holding Chelsea at bay last time.
Hull City are still in the 18th position. The team has failed to win in four of their last six outings, which include three losses and a draw. Burnley are in a more comfortable 12th spot with relegation being less of a worry.
Team News
Hull City- Marco Silva has a long injury list. Among the long-term injuries feature William Keane and Markus Henriksen. While Henriksen’s return is two months due with a dislocated shoulder, Keane isn’t likely to return even early next season as he recovers from a cruciate ligament injury.
Among the short-term injuries are skipper Michael Dawson, Curtis Davies, Dieumerci Mbokani, Brian Lenihan and Abel Hernandez. Sam Clucas was red-carded the last match for handling the ball and we expect Evandro Goebel to replace him.
Burnley- A positive news for Dyche is that experienced midfielder Steven Defour is back to training, although he is not a surety to feature in the game. Among long-term injuries would be Dean Marney. Johann Berg Gudmundsson might just be fit to be in contention. Kevin Long is recovering fast and will join the team soon. Among suspensions is only Jeff Hendrick, who is yet to serve 2 of his 3-game ban for a red card.
Predicted Line-ups
Hull City (4-1-4-1): Jakupovic; Elabdellaoui, Ranocchia, Maguire, Robertson; Huddlestone; Markovic, N’Diaye, Elmohamady, Grosicki; Niasse
Burnley (4-4-2): Heaton; Lowton, Keane, Mee, Ward; Boyd, Barton, Westwood, Brady; Gray, Barnes
Key Players
Hull City- Although Burnley’s away form has been dismal, to say the least, Hull’s goalie will play a big role in stopping them. Eldin Jakupovic has been a key part of their recent impressive results with a number of crucial saves to keep the team out of the drop zone. Niasse will be a big threat for Burnley. The Everton loanee has looked sharp in front of the goal so far and missed some close chances against Arsenal.
Burnley- All eyes will be once again on impressive centre-half Michael Keane. The defender has been brilliant for the Clarets so far and Dyche will depend on him heavily to end their poor away form. Andre Gray would be another man to watch out for. The highest goal scorer for Burnley will have the task to draw first blood in what promises to be a tight game.
