In a recent post on X, journalist Florian Plettenberg stated that Manchester City have identified Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez as a target. It has been claimed that the Mancunian giants are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Argentine talent this off-season.
Fernandez’s Excellent Numbers In English Football
Fernandez has enjoyed a decent run of form at the West London club during this campaign as he has put in a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 25-year-old has scored 15 times and earned seven assists in 53 matches for Chelsea this season across all competitions.
The Argentine sensation is currently one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, it is no wonder that Man City are showing interest in recruiting Fernandez in this summer transfer window.
His current contract at Stamford Bridge will run out in the summer of 2032, which could make it difficult for the Mancunian giants to sign him on the cheap later this year.

What Will Fernandez Bring To Manchester City?
Fernandez loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when required and can shoot the ball with power from long range.
The Argentine sensation has got the vision to create some decent chances in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. Fernandez mainly operates as a box-to-box midfielder, but can also play as a defensive midfielder or an attacking midfielder if told to do so. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club.
We can expect Fernandez to bring more quality to Man City‘s midfield department. He has what it takes to nail down a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming seasons.
At 25, Fernandez has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the Mancunian outfit to pursue at the end of this campaign. He might even help Man City compete for some major trophies in the future. All in all, the Premier League giants would be wise to get a deal done for him this off-season.
