Arsenal will clash heads with Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium this Saturday night as they look to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Gunners suffered a poor 2-0 loss against Manchester City in the EFL Cup before the international break, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways this weekend.
Mikel Arteta will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a lot of changes to his first XI. Jurrien Timber, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Christian Norgaard could all play from the start of this game.
4-2-3-1 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Southampton
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga will feature in between the sticks for the Gunners after he shipped in a couple of two goals in his last outing. Jurrien Timber will operate alongside Cristhian Mosquera at the heart of the Arsenal backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Ben White will try to put in a solid performance as the right-back, while Myles Lewis-Skelly looks to prove his value on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.
Riccardo Calafiori will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield
Declan Rice and Christian Norgaard will operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka will play just ahead of them as part of Arteta’s attack. All three of them need to be at the top of their game if the Gunners are to earn a convincing win this weekend.
Martin Odegaard, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Viktor Gyokeres will lead the line for the North London club in the final third. He has to find a way to be a real threat up top.
Gabriel Jesus will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if Arsenal are in need of a goal by then.
