Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain believes the win against Sutton United will work as a major morale booster for them. The Gunners defeated Sutton 2-0 to move to the quarterfinal of the FA Cup.
This was Arsenal’s first game since the 5-1 demolition at the hands of Bayern Munich. It is now almost impossible to overturn a 4-goal deficit for them even though the second leg will be at the Emirates.
The North London giants practically now have one trophy to focus on as they will take on Lincoln United in the FA Cup quarters. It was not an easy game for the Gunners as they had to toil hard to secure a victory over the non-League side Sutton.
The youngster said, “I think the only thing you can do after a really disappointing result is to get a win. We did that, we came here, we had a job to do and we did the job. We’re into the next round of the cup, that’s all that matters.
“It’s good to get back to winning ways against any team, even if they are a good few leagues below you and I’m glad we did that. We’ve got a little break now before our next game, we needed that win and we can focus again on the league.”
