Liverpool Have Stepped Up Their Efforts To Land This Talented Striker: Good Fit For The Reds?

In a recent report, Correio da Manha claimed that Liverpool have stepped up their efforts to land Sporting CP striker Luis Suarez. It is believed that the Reds would have to compete with Newcastle United in the race to land the Colombian talent this summer.

Suarez’s Impressive Form In Portuguese Football

Suarez is having a productive campaign in Portugal as he has put in a series of impressive displays for Sporting in the final third. The 28-year-old has banged in 33 goals and grabbed seven assists in 42 matches for the Portuguese outfit this season on all fronts.

The Colombian talent is currently among the most feared forwards in Liga Portugal. Hence, the Reds would do well to lure him to Anfield this off-season.

His current contract at Sporting will expire in the summer of 2030, which should make it tough for Liverpool to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Will Suarez Be A Good Fit For Liverpool?

Suarez is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer a few decent chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. Suarez is usually quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The Colombia international can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals on the offensive end of the field. However, there are some concerns over whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if the Reds manage to snap him up in the upcoming transfer window.

We can expect Suarez to add more firepower to Liverpool‘s attack. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Merseyside club in the coming years.

At 28, Suarez is about to enter his prime, which makes him a decent fit for the Premier League outfit’s needs in the short-term. He might even help the Reds challenge for some major trophies in the future. With all things considered, Liverpool would be wise to go all out to lure him to England in the summer transfer period
