Manchester United Are In Pole Position To Recruit This Talented Winger: Good Choice For Carrick?

In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Manchester United are in pole position to recruit Benfica winger Andreas Schjelderup. It has been claimed that the Red Devils are ahead of Barcelona in the race to land the Norwegian talent this summer.

Schjelderup’s Decent Form In Italian Football

Schjelderup has put in a series of impressive performances for Benfica in the final third during this game. The Norwegian wide player has made 36 appearances for the Portuguese club this season, scoring seven times and earning four assists in the process across all fronts.

The 21-year-old is currently one of the most gifted wingers in European football. Hence, it is no surprise that Man United are in pole position to recruit Schjelderup this off-season.

His current contract at Benfica will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Will Schjelderup Be A Good Choice For Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick?

Schjelderup is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the vision to engineer some decent chances for his teammates in the final third.

The Norwegian sensation can strike the ball with power from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team in the final third. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to snap him up this off-season.

We can expect Schjelderup to add more firepower to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s attack. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team place at Old Trafford in the coming years.

At 21, the future looks quite bright for Schjelderup as long as he continues to improve with each season. He will also help the Red Devils compete across all competitions in the long run. Therefore, Schjelderup would be an excellent choice for Man United to consider this summer. All in all, Carrick should focus on going all out to lure him to the Theatre of Dreams.
