Manchester United have drawn Chelsea in the FA Cup quarterfinal and according to Juan Mata, it will be the perfect stage to take revenge.
Chelsea humiliated United 4-0 when the two sides met in the Premier League earlier in the season. This was Mourinho’s worst record in the Premier League. United, however, have found the rhythm under the Portuguese and haven’t tasted a defeat in the Premier League after that.
The Red Devils got the better of Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fourth round in the last match and will have to defeat Chelsea to take a place in the Semifinal. Marcus Rashford and Zlatan Ibrahimović were both on target as they cruised to the next round with a 2-1 win over Blackburn.
It was Mourinho who sold Mata to United in 2014. He said, “It was a tricky game, as we expected, in a good stadium against a good opponent, but thanks to those two nice goals from Marcus and Zlatan we have made it to the next round of this competition where we are the defending champions.
“We were just leaving Ewood Park when we knew through the social networks our rival in the last eight: Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
“Needless to say, it’s going to be another special game for me…
“This is without a doubt one of the most complicated ties we could have, but we will go there with the big motivation of earning a ticket to Wembley and forget the bad taste of our last visit to Stamford Bridge.”
