Chelsea welcomed Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge earlier this evening as they looked to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Blues made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 18th minute when Anthony Gordon found the back of the net. Liam Rosenior’s men struggled to find the leveller and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
The West London club failed to mount a comeback in the second half and crashed to a narrow 1-0 loss in front of their home fans.

He made a few important saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet.
RB: Malo Gusto – 6/10
Gusto failed to impress in the first 45 minutes and was replaced at half-time.
CB: Wesley Fofana – 6.5/10
He made a lot of crucial clearances inside his half and was strong in the air.
CB: Trevoh Chalobah – 6.5/10
Chalobah earned the ball back once and won a couple of aerial duels.

LB: Marc Cucurella – 7/10
He put his foot through the ball when required and engineered a few inviting chances in the final third.
CM: Reece James – 7.5/10
James anchored the midfield well and engineered a few inviting chances in the final third.
CM: Moises Caicedo – 6/10
He got stuck in with some solid tackles and made one good chance going forward. Caicedo was replaced in the 60th minute.
RW: Cole Palmer – 7/10
Palmer was a constant menace in the final third but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.
CAM: Enzo Fernandez – 6.5/10
He earned possession back once and made two decent chances in the final third.
LW: Alejandro Garnacho – 6.5/10
Garnacho caught the eye at times on the left flank, but there was no goal for him.
ST: Joao Pedro – 6/10
He worked hard inside the Newcastle half but failed to threaten their goal.
