Manchester City entertained Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Mancunian club made a good start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 14th minute when Nico O’Reilly found the back of the net. However, Lewis Hall equalised for the visitors just eight minutes later. O’Reilly restored Man City’s lead in the 27th minute as Pep Guardiola’s men went into the half-time break 2-1 up on the scoreline.
Man City controlled the game well in the second 45 minutes and earned a narrow 2-1 win at the Etihad.

He made a few solid saves at the back and did well to limit the opposition to just one goal.

Nunes did his fair share of defending but offered very little going forward.

He dealt with the danger when he could in the first half and was replaced at half-time.

Guehi gave a good account of himself defensively and was good on the ball.

He earned the ball back twice and was accurate with his passing.
CDM: Rodri – 8/10
The Spaniard was a positive influence at both ends of the field and was accurate with his passing.
RAM: Antoine Semenyo – 7/10
He caught the eye at times in the final third, but there was no goal for him.
CAM: Bernardo Silva – 7/10
Silva worked his socks off at both ends of the field.
LAM: Nico O’Reilly – 8/10
He was a real threat in the final third and managed to score a brace in the first half to help Man City win this game.
ST: Erling Haaland – 8/10
Haaland was clever with his movements in and around the Newcastle penalty area and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
ST: Omar Marmoush – 7.5/10
He caused a lot of headaches for his marker and ended the game with an assist to his name.
