In a recent report, A Spor claimed that Liverpool wanted to recruit Galatasaray full-back Roland Sallai in January. It has been stated that the Reds launched a move to bring the Hungarian defender in the winter transfer window.
Sallai’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football
Sallia has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Turkish club as he has produced a series of eye-catching displays for them on the right flank. The 28-year-old has registered one goal and earned six assists in 32 matches for Galatasaray this season across all competitions.
The Hungary international is currently one of the best right-backs in the Turkish Super Lig. Hence, it is no surprise that the Reds were showing interest in acquiring his services earlier this year.
His current contract at Galatasaray will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Liverpool to sign him on the cheap next summer.

Should Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Go Back For Sallai?
Sallia is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot.
The Hungarian talent is a decent dribbler with the ball as well and can create some inviting chances for his teammates from the right flank. Sallia is primarily a right-back but can also serve as a wide player on either flank if asked to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Reds manage to snap him up next summer.
Sallia would add more quality and depth to Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s defence. He is good enough to compete with Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong for a regular starting spot at the Merseyside club in the coming years.
At 28, Sallia is playing in his prime, which makes him a worthy target for the Reds to consider at the end of this campaign. All in all, Slot would be wise to go back for a right-back of his skill set next summer. However, Liverpool would need to give him some time to settle into life in England before they can unlock the best out of him.
