Manchester United might have a pre-contract agreement with Benfica defender Victor Lindelof but doesn’t stop Juventus from making a move for the Swedish defender. The Italian champions have reportedly reignited their interest in the defender.
United did have a fee agreed with Benfica for the defender but later the deal didn’t take off. Mourinho also didn’t take further interest in the player and the form of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo could be the reason behind that.
Lindelof has emerged as one of the brightest talents to have emerged in Europe. He helped his team register a narrow 1-0 win against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of Champions League round of 16.
Lindelof signed a new contract and has a €60m release clause in his contract. But the Red Devils need to splurge at least €45m to land the defender. However, they have to fend off interest from Juventus who have been chasing the player for the past few seasons.
