Chelsea Are Eyeing A Move For This Barcelona Forward: What Will He Bring To Stamford Bridge?

In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Chelsea are eyeing a move for Barcelona forward Ferran Torres. It has been mentioned that the Blues are showing interest in recruiting the Spanish talent this summer.

Torres’ Impressive Form In La Liga

Torres has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Catalan club as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 25-year-old has banged in 15 goals and grabbed one assist in 28 matches for Barcelona this season in all competitions.

The Spanish talent has led the line well and deserves credit for averaging 3.63 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 51% of his attempts on target (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, Chelsea could potentially snap him up on a cut-price deal at the end of this campaign.

What Will Torres Bring To Chelsea?

Torres is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some killer passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Spanish sensation can contribute by scoring his fair share of goals up top. Torres is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if told to do so. Hence, he would be a great fit for the London club’s needs next summer.

We can expect Torres to bring more quality and depth to Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior’s attack. He is good enough to challenge for regular first-team football at Stamford Bridge in the coming years. Plus, the Spaniard could help the Blues compete across all fronts.

At 25, Torres has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for the West London giants to consider at the end of this campaign. He already knows the Premier League well from his time at Manchester City and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Chelsea. All in all, Rosenior would be wise to go all out to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
