Arsenal have been boosted in the pursuit of defender Ricardo Rodriguez. Inter Milan, who were once heavily linked with the player, said they won’t pay the release clause of the player.
Left back has been a concern for Arsene Wenger for the past couple of seasons. Arsenal currently have Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs in that position. Monreal has been the preferred choice for Wenger but the Spaniard is in his thirties and is not the same player what he used to be.
On the other hand, Gibbs has been pretty awful for the Gunners. He was the captain when Bayern Munich crushed Arsenal 5-1 in the UEFA Champions League round of last 16.
Rodriguez has a release clause of £18.5m but Inter are not ready to splurge more than £13m. Arsenal have been targeting the player for quite a while but have to face a stiff competition from Chelsea and Inter.
