Newcastle United will welcome PSV Eindhoven at St. James’ Park on Wednesday night as they look to secure a win at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Magpies were held to a 0-0 draw away at Wolverhampton Wanderers recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways in midweek.
Eddie Howe will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make one tweak to his first XI for this game. Joe Willock could play from the start of this contest, while Joelinton makes way for him and drops to the bench.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face PSV Eindhoven
Defence
Nick Pope will play in between the sticks for the Magpies after he kept a clean sheet in his last appearance. Malick Thiaw will continue to function alongside Sven Botman at the centre of the Newcastle backline as they focus on keeping the opposition at bay during the 90 minutes.
Kieran Trippier will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Lewis Hall hopes to give a good account of himself as the left-back. Howe will instruct both of them to go forward and express themselves inside the PSV half at every chance they can get.
Alex Murphy will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield
Joe Willock, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes will make up Newcastle’s midfield. Their main job would be to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park and create some decent chances in the final third.
Lewis Miley and Joelinton will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Anthony Gordon will try to make a difference from the left wing, while Harvey Barnes looks to give a good account of himself on the right flank. Both of them will try to get in behind the PSV backline at every chance they can get.
Nick Woltemade will spearhead Newcastle’s attack down the middle. He has to find a way to be a constant threat in the final third.
Anthony Elanga and Yoane Wissa will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if required.
