Newcastle United faced off against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a solid start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time interval.
Both sides cancelled each other out in the second 45 minutes as the contest finished with Eddie Howe’s men settling for a lackluster 0-0 draw away from home.

He made a couple of solid saves at the back and secured an important clean sheet this afternoon.
RB: Kieran Trippier – 7/10
Trippier caught the eye at times on both ends of the field.
CB: Malick Thiaw – 7.5/10
He cleared the danger when he could and was a good presence on the ball.
CB: Sven Botman – 7/10
Botman made a couple of important clearances at the back and did enough to keep a clean sheet.

LB: Lewis Hall – 7/10
He put his foot through the ball when needed and made one good run on the left flank.
CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 7.5/10
Guimaraes anchored the midfield well and was lively inside the Wolves’ half.
CM: Sandro Tonali – 6.5/10
He came back to defend when needed but offered very little going forward.
CM: Joelinton – 7.5/10
He offered solid protection for his teammates at the back and was not shy of having a strike at goal.
RW: Harvey Barnes – 6.5/10
He made one good chance in the final third and was tidy with his ball distribution. However, there was no goal for him.
ST: Nick Woltemade – 6/10
Woltemade was a handful for the opposition defenders and failed to find the back of the net.
LW: Anthony Gordon – 6.5/10
He caused some headaches for his marker but struggled to threaten the opponent’s goal.

His impact on the game was minimal.

He made one good tackle after coming off the bench.
