Manchester City will face Huddersfield Town as they attempt to recover from the blow dealt to them by the injury to Gabriel Jesus which will see Brazilian youngster miss almost all of the remainder of the season. He had come in like a breath of fresh air with bundles of quality and had shaken up the slumbering City team and along with the fresh attacking unit, got them from the 5th spot to the 2nd spot, when he got injured.
While the injury to Jesus comes as a massive blow, they still have Aguero who will be pumped up and will look to silence his critics and prove a thing or two. City have the Champions League and the FA Cup to compete in and with 8 points separating them and Chelsea and a host of teams chasing them, there is no room for a breather or any margin for error now.
Pep Guardiola might look to make a change or two but he will be aware of the threat that the Championship side pose. They are performing impressively this season and are in contention for the play-off berths and at times this season, they have looked more than capable of competing against Premier League teams.
PREDICTED MANCHESTER CITY XI VS HUDDERSFIELD TOWN (4-1-4-1)
DEFENCE
In a complete turnaround in design, Bravo looks like he will make a start. Caballero has replaced him in recent and we will likely see a role reversal between the two. At right-back, Zabaleta is likely to come in. At centre-back, Otamendi and Kompany might get game time with Stones and Kolarov rotated. Gael Clichy will hope to get a game at left-back. Defence hasn’t been City’s strong point this season and even though it is against a Championship side, the Sky Blues have been to be wary of the impressive Huddersfield side.
MIDFIELD
Yaya Toure is likely to be afforded a rest and will most likely be replaced by Fernandinho. The Brazilian has operated in the fullback region in the last two matches and will love a return to normalcy. In the two advanced midfield positions, Fabian Delph is likely to be one of the players while De Bruyne might be unleashed to get a lead in the beginning.
ATTACK
On the left-hand side, Nolito is likely to start while Jesus Navas will hope for some game time after finding himself way down the pecking order recently. Iheanacho is likely to get a start up front.
