In a recent report, The Evening Standard revealed that Manchester United are keeping a keen eye on Nottingham Forest ace Elliot Anderson. It has been stated that the Red Devils are showing interest in recruiting the English midfielder next year.
Anderson’s Impressive Form In The Premier League
Anderson has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Midlands club in this campaign so far as he has put in a few impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 23-year-old has registered one goal and grabbed one assist in 14 appearances for Nottingham this season across multiple competitions.
The English talent has anchored the midfield with conviction and deserves some credit for making 29 tackles, 18 blocks, ten interceptions and nine clearances in the Premier League. He has even been accurate when distributing possession from midfield based on his pass success rate of 83.4% in the English top flight (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the City Ground will run out in the summer of 2029. Thus, Man United would have to launch a big offer if they want to stand a chance of acquiring Anderson’s services next year.

Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Move In For Anderson?
Anderson is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when required and is a good passer of the ball as well.
The English sensation can even chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his side. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play in the number ten position or as a left-winger if asked to do so.
Anderson would add more energy and dynamism to Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s midfield. He is good enough to challenge for regular first-team football at the Theatre of Dreams.
At 23, Anderson has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a great signing for the Red Devils to consider in the long run. He will also help Man United compete across all fronts over the next few years. Thus, Amorim should focus on moving in for him this January or next summer.
