According to Arsenal legend Alan Smith, Arsene Wenger should step aside from the Gunners job. The Frenchman’s future has been the subject of speculation in recent times.
The 67-year-old has been managing the club for two decades but since 2004, they haven’t managed to win the most coveted trophy in England. Arsenal last won the trophy more than a decade ago and with the squad they currently have, the supporters were very hopeful before the season kicked off.
But back to back defeats at the hands of Watford and Chelsea have left them far behind. The Gunners are currently 10 points behind Chelsea and need a miracle to win the trophy this season.
“I think it probably is time for change. We’ve reached the natural end of the cycle.
“It has got stale here, there’s no doubt about it. You may have to be prepared to take one step back to take two steps forward.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he did decide to go,” Smith opined.
