Newcastle United clashed heads with West Ham United at the London Stadium earlier today as they looked to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the fourth minute thanks to Jacob Murphy’s goal. However, Lucas Paqueta equalised for the home team with a great strike in the 35th minute. Newcastle found themselves 2-1 down in the dying embers of the first half because of an unfortunate own goal from Sven Botman. Eddie Howe’s men were trailing 2-1 at the half-time interval.
Tomas Soucek put the contest to bed in injury time as the Magpies crashed to a tough 3-1 loss away from home.
